Caleigh is Three!

Thanks to all who sent gifts, cards and phone calls on Caleigh's birthday. You really helped to make her day even more special. She had three of her little friends come over and share her big day. (Chloe, Cora and Lily) A huge thanks to Chris, and Jeff for bringing their girls over. It was a nice change, we had only Daddies over for a little girl's party. Mommy certainly didn't mind being surrounded by three handsome men. :-)

She really wanted a Scooby theme, so she got one, of course! :-) Grant and I got a little nuts with decorating the dining room this year. She was very surprised and pleased. I can't believe she is three, where does the time go??

Caleigh and ELMO

Mommy, I'm so excited to see Elmo!

Last weekend I took Caleigh to see Elmo and the rest of the Sesame Street gang. We went with some friends of ours, Jeff, Irene, Lily and Emma Prager. Grant and Connor met with us after the show for a burger. She really wanted to hug Elmo, but that didn't happen. :-( We did, however, spend a fortune on an Elmo balloon for the girls and WOW, at eight bucks a balloon you know they made a killing just on balloons alone. But it was worth the big hug and a thank you when it was all said and done. If any of you with toddlers ever get the chance to see Elmo live I highly recommend it! (so does Caleigh)

Halloween

The Grim Reaper and Our Little Snow White

Our friends; Rob and Becky Livingston, Kim and Larry McElvain, and Deb and Jerry Mundy spent Halloween with us. Our neighborhood is truly a sight to behold on Halloween. You really have to be here to appreciate exactly what it is I 'm talking about. People actually drive in from all over Norfolk, just to trick-or-treat here. Given the fact that Grant and I are huge Halloween fans, we certainly picked THE perfect neighborhood to live in. Gone are the days of ringing doorbells, everyone here sits outside to pass out candy. Most of the people here also go all out to decorate their homes. We even had a guy chasing people around with a chainsaw, without the chain of course. Grant downloaded a bunch of scary tunes and sounds and played it outside for all to hear, just to add to our cheesy atmosphere. A lot of the comments came from the kids who thought our house was haunted. We also a had a small fog machine to help out. Anyway, we all had a great time and the kids made out like bandits in the candy department. I hope your Halloween was just as fun and safe as ours was. Happy late Halloween!

Keeping in Touch

Hi All! Happy November! Can you believe it is almost the year 2008? I can't! Some friends of mine were an inspiration for this blog. Since we live so far away from most of our friends and all of our family, I thought that this would be a better way to keep you all updated on the Highland Clan. Not to mention, taking some of the pressure off my wonderful husband who has been far better at keeping in touch than I have.

A few of the pictures some of you may already have seen, but I hope you will still enjoy the blog. Please let me know any feed back when you can. I hope everyone is doing well, and please let's stay in better touch!
